Brilliant Labs Unveils the Halo Smart Glasses: AI-Powered Memory Assistance for Everyday Use
Brilliant Labs, a Singapore-based startup, has recently announced the release of their latest product - the Halo smart glasses. Priced at $299, these glasses are equipped with AI capabilities and are designed to offer memory assistance for individuals with memory issues, such as the ability to save names of people the user meets.
The Halo smart glasses are lightweight and comfortable, weighing just over 40 grams, and boast a battery life of up to 14 hours on a single charge. They feature a 0.2-inch color microOLED display that projects a retro arcade-style interface into the wearer’s peripheral vision, and use bone conduction speakers in the temples for private audio delivery.
Powered by a low-power Alif B1 processor with a Cortex-M55 CPU and an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), the glasses are capable of running AI tasks directly on the device. This local AI processing allows for a seamless and natural conversational experience with Noa, an AI conversational assistant that provides real-time, contextually relevant information through voice interaction.
The Halo smart glasses also incorporate an Agent Memory System called Narrative. This system uses data collected from the camera, microphones, and user interactions to create a personalized knowledge base for each user, helping them recall people's names and past conversations.
In addition to memory assistance, the Halo smart glasses offer customizable applications through "Vibe Mode." This feature allows users to create personalized AI-driven apps using natural language commands, enabling tailored tools like personalized navigation without the need for traditional app stores.
The Halo smart glasses maintain a classic, everyday eyewear style and offer prescription lens support in over 100 countries. With their thin, lightweight design and AI-powered capabilities, these smart glasses are positioned as practical everyday devices, rather than bulky or novelty items.
The Halo smart glasses are the second version of Brilliant Labs' Frame smart glasses, which were first released early last year. With their focus on data-saving capabilities and memory assistance, the Halo smart glasses are set to make a significant impact in the smart glasses market.
