Affordable New Offering by BSNL: Details on the Rupee 1 Plan, Including Validity, Features, and Data Limit Revealed
In an effort to attract more customers and promote indigenous technology, BSNL has launched a new offering called the 'Freedom Plan'. This limited-period plan, available from August 1 to August 31, costs a mere Re 1 and provides users with 30 days of benefits.
The 'Freedom Plan' includes unlimited voice calls (local/STD), 2 GB high-speed data per day, 100 SMS per day, and a free BSNL SIM card. This plan is designed to allow users to test and experience the indigenous network for a month, free of cost.
BSNL's Chairman and Managing Director, A Robert J Ravi, stated that the 'Freedom Plan' gives every Indian a chance to see the BSNL difference. The offer is part of a larger initiative to celebrate India's Independence Day and promote the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.
The state-run telecom firm is also rolling out 1 lakh 4G sites across the country using Make-in-India technology. BSNL's 4G service is designed, developed, and deployed under the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' mission.
Union telecom minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has asked BSNL to add customers and grow its mobile service business by 50 per cent in the next year. During a review meeting of BSNL, the minister also asked each unit to increase enterprise business by 25-30 per cent and fixed line business by a minimum of 15-20 per cent.
While BSNL's 'Freedom Plan' offers a significant discount, it's important to note that the company is also offering a plan for just Re 1. This plan does not include the same benefits as the 'Freedom Plan', but it is still a compelling offer for budget-conscious consumers.
BSNL's competitors are offering similar prepaid plan benefits for Rs 349, Rs 379, and Rs 399, respectively. However, the 'Freedom Plan' stands out as it provides users with full access to BSNL's 4G network and services for a month at a nominal price.

- Validity: 30 days
- Data allowance: 2 GB per day (total 60 GB for 30 days)
