Aerial amusement heads to the enchanting fairy destination named Magic Mark
The 2021 Rheinkirmes fair in Düsseldorf, Germany, has unveiled a host of new attractions and additional features to offer visitors an unforgettable experience.
One of the new additions is the Weinzelt, a wine tent that offers fine wines, relaxed day drinking, live music, and special Wine Walks from Carlsplatz along the Rhine to the fairgrounds. The Weinzelt also includes wine tastings, sommelier guidance, and a signature sandwich from Don Carne, creating a unique start to the fair evening.
Visitors can also enjoy the Riesenrad Bellevue, a Ferris wheel featuring 42 closed gondolas, offering a comfortable ride with a panoramic view of Düsseldorf. For those seeking a higher adrenaline rush, the Bayern Tower, more than just a swing carousel, elevates guests to about 90 meters high for a breathtaking view of the entire Rheinkirmes area and beyond.
For a less intense experience, the Kettenflieger provides a similar swinging ride with a lower height, appealing to a broader audience.
New this year, guests can enjoy up to four live concerts alongside the shooting range, which can accommodate up to 3,000 people. The fair aims to maintain tradition while introducing novelties, striving for thrills, excitement, and sociability.
One of the new attractions is named "Evolution," offering flight fun at 66 meters high and up to 140 km/h. Another new attraction, "The Bobsled," is designed for families with new special effects, barrier-free access, and elaborate airbrush designs.
The Truck Stop, a children's ride, features a double-eight loop, adding to the excitement for younger visitors.
The St. Sebastianus Event GmbH organises this year's fair, with around 300 exhibitors and caterers selected. Manfred Kirschenstein, chairman of the Rheinkirmes site commission, emphasises the fair's appeal to visitors of all ages and tastes.
This year's fair will also feature two drone shows in addition to the traditional fireworks display on the last Friday at 22:15. Up to 1,000 flying objects will create images in the sky. The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Germany's largest mobile roller coaster without loops, spanning nearly 1,000 meters of track, is another exciting addition to the fair.
Sven Gerling, CEO of St. Sebastianus Event GmbH, states that about 900 applications were received for this year's fair, highlighting its continued popularity and appeal. These new attractions and features highlight a blend of thrilling rides and relaxing, sophisticated experiences at the 2021 Rheinkirmes, aimed to cater to diverse visitor preferences and make the fair more engaging.
