These innovative vehicles are designed to function independently of weather conditions, providing a viable alternative to open scooters. According to Jörg Scheelen, the dealership's manager, these electric vehicles are particularly suitable for short-distance travels, such as shopping, commuting, medical appointments, and dropping children off at school.
Launched five years ago, Autohaus Scheelen was initially recognized as a bathroom specialist with outlets in Krefeld and its surrounding areas. However, the increasing traffic issues prompted Scheelen to explore practical solutions for urban mobility. His research led him to discover the E-models that appealed to the competitive entrepreneur.
Anticipating the market's interest in these solutions, Scheelen decided to open his car dealership in Krefeld, and the response has been positive thus far. To foster customer engagement, Autohaus Scheelen hosts an annual event, "Satisfied Customers Are No Coincidence," scheduled for August 16, 2025. The Starliner, priced at 7880 Euro (including lead-gel batteries) or 9380 Euro (including LiFePO4 batteries), boasts a compact design featuring two seats and a capacity of up to 233 kg. Jörg Scheelen emphasizes the vehicle's user-friendly design, allowing drivers to feel comfortable from the onset. The Starliner, available in two maximum speeds and suitable for drivers aged 15 and above, offers a range of advanced features including LED exterior lighting, a multimedia system, a reversing camera, and a foldable roof and rear window.
The larger Skyliner, a four-wheeled vehicle with a maximum speed of 45 km/h, emphasizes practicality with its spacious trunk lid and a capacity of up to 323 kg. TÜV and tax-free, the Skyliner provides a range of 95-110 kilometers, depending on weather conditions, at a consumption of 9.1 kwh. Appropriate for urban environments, the Skyliner's charging costs amount to just 2.70 Euro at a power tariff of 0.30 Euro.
