A2C Teams Up with Privacy4Cars to Strengthen FTC Compliance for Auto Dealers

Accelerate2Compliance (A2C) has partnered with Privacy4Cars to enhance its Federal Trade Commission (FTC) compliance solutions for automotive dealerships. The collaboration, announced on June 29, 2023, aims to assist dealers in navigating emerging privacy regulations.

A2C's clients will now have access to Privacy4Cars' patented vehicle privacy tools, AutoCleared™ and Vehicle Privacy Report™. The Vehicle Privacy Report™ tool facilitates automated, transparent disclosures for all vehicles in a dealer's inventory. Meanwhile, AutoCleared™ helps users delete vehicle users' personal information and establish compliance records.

The partnership comes at a critical juncture. In June 2023, the FTC implemented updated guidelines under the Safeguard Rule, mandating stringent security practices for businesses. Additionally, in July 2023, the California Privacy Protection Agency announced a review of data privacy practices by connected vehicle manufacturers. A2C's program helps dealers implement complete and technical FTC safeguards and provides a roadmap for ongoing compliance management.

Starting today, A2C users can access sample policies and disclosures covering the collection and processing of personal information in vehicles. The partnership between A2C and Privacy4Cars aims to help dealerships stay ahead of emerging privacy regulations and meet compliance requirements in the privacy sector.
